Macs using OS X 10.7 through 10.10 must first upgrade to OS X 10.11 El Capitan before updating to macOS 10.15 Catalina. Go to the OS X 10.11 El Capitan download page to get it. Open the System Preferences menu and select Software Update. Or, launch the App Store application and find macOS Catalina either from the Featured tab (⌘ + 1). Download macOS using Safari on your Mac. Safari uses these links to find the old installers in the App Store. After downloading from the App Store, the installer will open automatically. MacOS Catalina 10.15 can upgrade Mojave, High Sierra, Sierra, El Capitan, Yosemite or Mavericks. MacOS Mojave 10.14 can upgrade High Sierra, Sierra, El Capitan.
